Ben Donich Summit Camp – Arrochar Alps

This series of photographs tells the story of a solo camp on the summit of Ben Donich in the Arrochar Alps. My small hooped bivi tent rests above weathered rock, its fabric glowing softly in the last light of day. The scramble to the summit had been a satisfying tangle of stone and ridge, giving way to the reward of still air and wide horizons. As dusk gathered, the sun slipped behind the distant Paps of Jura, their dark outlines etched against a sky of fading gold and deepening blue. The silence was broken only by the faint stir of evening wind across the slopes, a reminder of how exposed yet embraced the mountain felt. In that quiet height, the night became less about camping and more about simply being present - a moment held between stone, sky, and solitude.
